City hosts FEMA Disaster Recovery Center at Sims Center

(September 19, 2017)  To assist those affected by Hurricane Irma, the State of Florida and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have opened a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at Carolyn Sims Center, located at 225 NW 12 Avenue, Boynton Beach.

The DRC will be open 7 days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Citizens can find information about FEMA programs or other disaster assistance programs and are invited to ask questions related to their personal situations. Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), volunteer groups and other agencies will be available to answer questions about disaster assistance and low-interest disaster loans for homeowners, renters and businesses. They can also help survivors apply for federal disaster assistance.

Citizens may also register online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call 800-621-3362 or TTY 800-462-7585. If you use 711 or Video Relay Service (VRS), call 800-621-3362. Operators are multilingual and calls are answered seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. CDT.
